OUR HISTORY
Contract Testing Laboratories of America (CTLA) Opens For Business. CTLA begins providing high quality testing of food products, dietary supplements, and cosmetics. With a focus on customer service and competitive pricing, CTLA quickly becomes a leader in the industry, serving hundreds of clients not only in the state of Utah, but throughout the United States.
2017
Shortage of Organic Certifiers in Utah. As CTLA worked with its clients, they noticed a problem in Utah: there weren't many certifiers available for organic companies. This meant businesses had to wait a long time for a local option, or pay high fees to work with certifiers from farther away. This shortage of certifiers made it tough for local organic companies to get the certification they needed easily and affordably.
2020
CTLA Was Uniquely Qualified to Help. After noticing the shortage of certifiers for organic companies in Utah, CTLA realized they could step in to help. With their years of experience as a testing laboratory and their convenient location near many organic companies in the region, they were the perfect fit to provide organic certification services. Their expertise and proximity made them uniquely qualified to fill this need, offering a solution that local organic businesses had been searching for.
2021
OCA Opens Its Doors and Begins the Process for Accreditation. Excited to tackle the challenge head-on, CTLA forms a subsidiary company named Organic Certifiers of America (OCA). This new venture marks the beginning of their journey towards becoming an organic certifier. Collaborating closely with members of the USDA's National Organic Program (NOP), OCA works diligently to meet the rigorous requirements to become a certifier and submit their application for accreditation.
